Materials: 

  • 30 grams 11/0 white seed beads
  • 20 grams 11/0 light green seed beads
  •  26 gauge green copper-core wire (approx. 80 feet)
  •  1 length of 16 gauge galvanized steel stem wire
  • 2 lengths of 18 gauge galvanized steel stem wire
  •  Skein of green DMC embroidery floss

Tools: 

  • Wire cutters
  • Chain nose pliers
  •  Bead spinner
  •  Scissors
  •  Ruler/Measuring tape

Notes about this French beaded flowers project:

Beads:

I used 11/0 beads to design this pattern so that it’s more accessible for all but you can certainly use size 15/0 seed beads for a more delicate look. The length of cut wire needed may be less.

Wire:

I have tested different gauges of wire and 26 gauge copper-core wire twists the best. It is harder to twist using 24 gauge wire and the look is much bulkier. For the best experience, stick with the 26 gauge copper-core wire.

Stem wires:

I used 16 gauge galvanized steel wire for the main stem and 18 gauge stem wire for the secondary stems. For the stability while keeping the thinnest possible stem, stick with the recommended stem gauges.
